Leading up to our 2024 Spring Lake Water Bark and in celebration of 60+ dog-friendly Sonoma County Regional Parks, the Sonoma County Parks Foundation hosted a summer 2024 dog photo contest as a fundraiser to benefit Regional Parks.
Two winning dogs – one selected by the public and one by our judges’ panel – will be “Top Dogs” at the 2024 Spring Lake Water Bark and have their banners featured at the event!
New this contest:
- We will introduce a “Judges’ Choice” photo category, with a panel of talented judges who will select the top 10 entries based on their photographic qualities to receive prizes. Learn more about the judges’ criteria.
- A 2025 “Sonoma County’s Top Dog” calendar will be awarded to Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice prize winners, and the calendar also will be available for purchase.
- Want to see your pup featured in the 2025 Top Dog Calendar? Reserve a date today, and your doggo will be featured on your preferred date!
Congratulations to our winners of Sonoma County's Top Dog Photo Contest!
Meet The Judges
Sherri OsterWebsite
www.sherriophoto.com Award-winning Sonoma County photographer, currently pursuing master candidate status with Santa Rosa Photographic Society. Photography gives me joy. I have learned to expect the unexpected, because often the best photograph of the day is not the one I intended to capture, but the one that captured me. I started studying the art and craft of photography in 2015, taking classes, participating in workshops, and joining camera clubs. More recently I have acquired commercial and portrait clients, capturing events and portraits of people and pets. It is my hope to create images that inspire. To share with you the attraction, the thing that made me raise my camera and click the shutter. To share the joy of capturing beauty; a moment in time. |

https://www.flickr.com/photos/alexg_imagery/ Alexander was born in Bulgaria and moved to the US as a teen. His family settled in the South Bay, before he went on to attend UC Davis. Alex subsequently obtained an undergraduate degree in Physics, and later a Master's in Physics from San Jose State University. Alex and his wife, whom he met at UCD, decided to relocate to Sonoma County to live in a smaller setting and to raise their children in proximity to gorgeous nature. He has worked at various high tech jobs, and currently works as a software engineer at Keysight in Santa Rosa. Alex loves hiking, swimming, nature, and especially playing soccer and doing photography. He is self taught in photography, and spends a lot of time learning from others on YouTube and reading about photography composition, concepts and techniques. Alex prefers intimate nature photography, with some landscape and mixing it up with urban shooting to challenge and motivate himself further. |
Ronnie RosenbachWebsite
ronnierosenbach.com I am a Sonoma County photographer, living and loving life in Santa Rosa. Art has always been an important part of my life. My mother was a painter and my father was an art collector. Although I have taken photography classes, and workshops, I am primarily self-taught. The catalog from the 1955 seminal exhibit, Edward Steichen’s “The Family of Man,” was a major reason why I became interested in photography. Flowers are my special love. I’d like to think Georgia O’Keefe would be proud. Landscapes and other genres interest me as well. The San Francisco Bay Area, with its temperate climate and spectacular views, offers me a seemingly endless list of subjects. And don’t get me started about sunsets. I have had public shows at local venues and I have participated in group shows at Sebastopol Center for the Arts and the Finley Center. My work has also been featured in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. I am an active member of Santa Rosa Photographic Society. My work has been recognized at club competitions as well as by the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C). |
