Parks Foundation Provides Much-Needed “Camperships”
Summer camps at Sonoma County Regional Parks provide a vital opportunity for children to engage with their peers, learn about our outdoor spaces, and participate in healthy outdoor activities.
Each summer, dozens of campers converge at Ragle Ranch, Riverfront and Spring Lake Regional Parks for Regional Parks’ Discovery Camps. During these two-week-long camps held in June, July and August, kids will take discovery walks, get creative, conduct experiments, and look for critters. Some of the outdoor recreational activities that they’ll enjoy will include creek exploration, kayaking, fishing, standup paddle boarding, sports, games and more!
Regional Parks also hosts popular Junior Guards camps, giving pre-teens and teens the skills to stay safe in the water and educating the lifeguards of tomorrow.
The Parks Foundation offer “camperships” to support families with limited resources, which cover nearly half of the cost of the summer camp cost. We hope to assist 100 families.
