Your financial support makes parks and programs accessible to everyone.

Here are some of the ways you can support Sonoma County Regional Parks:

Individual Gifts
An annual gift or a single donation to  support the needs of a specific park or program are welcome anytime!  Current campaigns are typically featured on the home page of ths website or one individual park and program pages.

Monthly Giving
Park Pals is our monthly giving club.  A monthly tax-deductible gift is a uniquely helpful way to provide funds we can rely on, and is much appreciated! Park Pals receive special invitations to Park Insider events, such as new park previews, private guided hikes and more. Visit our Park Pals page to sign up! If you would like to create a pledge using checks or your donor advised fund, please  email Executive Director Melissa Kelley or call her at 707-565-1830.

Corporate Matching
Many companies match donations their employees make to charities and some match gifts made by retirees. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. The impact of your gift to the parks may be doubled!

Commemorative Gifts
The Parks Foundation offers opportunities for tribute and memorial gifts, including furniture in parks, contributions to a tree fund, plaques and mosaics. For details, please read on...

Business Sponsorships
The Parks Foundation and Sonoma County Regional Parks collaborate on a variety of festivals, events and programs that offer sponsor opportunities and the chance to demonstrate your commitment to our parks. Click here for more information.

Legacy Gifts
Legacy gifts to the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation provide a critical source of funds to help ensure that our parks continue to provide recreational, cultural, and outdoor education opportunities for the people of Sonoma County. Find out more.

IRA Charitable Rollovers (or Qualified Charitable Distributions)*
Are you 70 ½ or older? You can transfer your required minimum distribution directly to Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation, tax-free. Funds must be transferred directly from the IRA by the IRA trustee in order to qualify for the tax break. Please ask your financial advisor for details.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock*
A gift of appreciated securities is a smart way to support the Parks Foundation and reduce your capital gains tax liability. Donating highly appreciated assets including stock, mutual funds and bonds can provide you with significant tax benefits, as you can deduct the full fair market value of assets held longer than one year.  To make a stock donation, please follow these steps.

Donor Advised Fund*
Giving through a donor advised fund (DAF) gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often funds are granted. If you have a DAF, please consider recommending a donation, or recurring donations to make an immediate impact now – or use your fund to designate future charitable gifts.

* So that we can accurately record your gift, acknowledge you properly and provide you with a receipt, please contact us by email to let us know your gift is on its way. This will add to the information provided by your financial institution and ensure the smooth processing of your gift.
