Phase 2 improvements are coming to Maxwell Farms Regional Park
Maxwell Farms is a well-used and loved regional park, with approximately 163,000 visitors in the most recent annual count. The updated Master Plan focuses on renovating and improving existing facilities, as well as adding new features based on current and future community needs. Regional Parks developed the plan with extensive input from the community. Park planners balanced ideas for new features and infrastructure improvements with conservation objectives to chart an exciting and sustainable vision for the 85-acre park.
We celebrated the Phase 1 with an opening celebration in July 2024. Phase 1 includes a new all-weather baseball field, a new all-weather soccer field, two new restroom and concession buildings, expanded parking including EV charging stations, expanded accessible parking and paths of travel, utility improvements, picnic areas and other site amenities. The project also improved safety, access, and circulation with a newly aligned and expanded entry drive.

The Sonoma County Parks Foundation is now raising funds for Phase 2, which includes a re-envisioned skatepark and a bicycle pumptrack.
When complete, the enhanced Maxwell Farms Park will include two baseball diamonds, soccer fields, an off-leash dog park, tennis and pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, a children’s play area, bicycle pump track, photovoltaic array and nature trails.
Funding to implement the Maxwell Farms master plan will come from public funds (including Measure M sales tax funding), state and federal grants, donations through local fundraising and community athletic groups, and support from the Parks Foundation.
The Parks Foundation invites donations of any size to support this exciting vision.
